We are noticing that more and more makeup artists (@makeupbymario, @aniamilczarczyk, @patrickta) are giving their clients a more natural, bare look and we kinda love it. A couple years ago “the look” was cut intense cut crease shadow, winged eyeliner, a heavy contour, glitter, and bold matte lipstick. That’s not really the case anymore. We’re observing a lighter eye look, including minimal mascara, highlighted cheekbones, ungroomed brows, and glossy nude lips. The way we see it, this new trend leaves us more time to have FUN and less time in front of the mirror.

The past couple of years have been included in short, fresh cuts but it seems that mermaid hair is making it’s way back to the spotlight! With celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Chrissy Teigen, and Jennifer Lopez, long hair is being flaunted more and more on the red carpet and we love it, because who doesn’t love long beautiful hair?!

For 2017 Golds, Browns, and Grey shadows are encouraged to be left in the drawer while bold colors should be picked up such as orange, pinks, greens, and blues. It’s nothing too intricate that incorporates other shades, just simply a smudge of color blended out a bit, and POOF! You’re finished, trendy, and so 2017. Some great products that offer daring shades are the Urban Decay Electric Palette, Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette, & ColourPop Eye Shadows.

We couldn’t be happier about this trend because hello?! Uma Thurman, Joan Jett, Bridget Bardot, Bettie Page? ICONS. Bangs have been around for years and for a good reason. They enhance longer locks and help diminish larger foreheads. With so many variations, it’s easy to find a style that could work for you. I mean, do we really need to explain any further?

If we know anything, we know that contouring is OUT and luminous skin is IN. It isn’t about hiding the flaws anymore, but more about enhancing your features, and we fully support that positivity. This look can be achieved by grabbing your highlighter or strobing products and applying them to your cheekbones, brow bone, lips, and bridge of the nose. Sweeping these main areas will ensure that your best features POP and that you are current with all things 2017.

Whether it be broches, bobbi pins, metallic rings, beaded headbands, or head wraps, more is more when it comes to hair in 2017. Many designers sported this new trend on their runways such as Tommy Hilfiger, Marchesa, Gucci, Armani, ect.

Lighter locks are a big trend for this upcoming year. Whether you’re beach blonde, platinum blonde, or honey blonde… any shade you sport is IN. If you do brighten up your mane, you’re in good company. Many celebrities rock their sandy tresses like Poppy Delevingne, Blake Lively, Gwen Stefani, and Kylie Jenner. We are all for this trend because after all, blondes have more fun.

Metallics have been on trend for a while now but 2017 is really putting an emphasis on them and we love it. We’ve been noticing that artists, influencers, models, and designers have been applying the chrome inspired shades to the top of the lid as well as the lower lash line. Some great products to help achieve these metal inspired looks are Pat McGraths METALMORPHOSIS Kits, Stila Foil Shadows, YSL Full Metal Shadows, Tom Ford Cream and Powder Eye Color, and Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows.

No matter which trend you try this year, make sure to tag us and let us see your look! We can’t wait to see you rock these awesome fads. #ABA
